Description :

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) aims to safeguard the health of women & children by providing them with a clean cooking fuel – LPG. Under this scheme, 5 Cr LPG connections will be provided to BPL families with a support of Rs.1600 per connection. Ensuring women’s empowerment, especially in rural India, the connections will be issued in the name of women of the households.

Eligibility:
1. Applicant must a woman above the age of 18 and a citizen of India
2. Applicant should belong to a BPL (Below Poverty Line)/AAY household
3. No one in the applicant’s household should own an LPG connection.
4. The household income of the family, per month, must not exceed a certain limit as defined by the government of the Union Territories and State Government.

Documents Required:
1. BPL Ration card
2. Jan Dhan account details.
2. Identity Proof with photo (Voter ID/Aadhaar Card)
3. A passport size photograph that was taken recently

How To Apply?:
1. A woman of the BPL household, may apply for a new LPG connection (in the prescribed format) to the nearest LPG distributor.
2. While submitting the application form, the woman needs to submit detailed address, Jandhan Bank Account and Aadhar number of all members of the household.
3. The connection will be issued by the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) to the eligible beneficiaries after processing the application.
4. In case the consumer opts for EMI, the EMI amount will be adjusted against the subsidy amount due to the consumer on each refill.
